Barcelona has a new Open Data portal

Barcelona has launched Open Data BCN, a new multilingual portal with a total of 366 sets of data. The new website increases the number of files which can be viewed to 1,293 counting historical series, and 2,687 counting all available formats. In terms of data quality, over 95% of files have three or more stars according to the Tim Berners-Lee rating system, the optimum level for data treatment.

The information on the site is organised into five main categories: territory, population, city and services, administration, and economy and business. Apart from downloadable data, other improvements include the possibility of previewing files in spreadsheets, graphic format or on a map if needed. The site uses APIs to make things easier for developers, as well as offering the possibility of making comments on data sets.
