The Neighbourhood Council is a territorial participation body for dealing with all the questions relating to the neighbourhood. Its purpose is to provide a channel for citizens to participate in developing public policies at a local level. It is a vital instrument for bringing the community together and work based on a collective responsibility we all share for deepening social cohesion and improving the quality of urban life in our city.
It is headed by the district councillor and attended by representatives of political party groups, services, organisations and associations and open as well to individual participation from all the city's residents through public calls. Its meetings see debates on the plans, projects and initiatives that are implemented in the neighbourhood, based on the information and opinions of everyone attending. Neighbourhood-council agreements and proposals are passed on to the City Council's relevant bodies for their response.
